5 Ways of Eco Gardening

5 ways of eco gardening - Oxford's Rocksfordz

Eco gardening focuses on improving soil health and biodiversity by using compost, cover crops, and crop rotation. Here are 5 ways of eco gardening.

1. Composting

Composting is the process of breaking down organic waste such as food scraps and garden debris into a nutrient-rich soil amendment. It reduces waste, improves soil health, and eliminates the need for chemical fertilizers.

2. Water conservation

Eco gardening conserves water by using drought-tolerant plants, installing rainwater harvesting systems, and using drip irrigation. This reduces the amount of water used in the garden and helps to preserve this precious resource.

3. Integrated pest management

Integrated pest management (IPM) is an approach that combines cultural, biological, and chemical methods to control pests in the garden. Eco gardening uses IPM to minimize the use of harmful chemicals and to promote a healthy garden ecosystem.

4. Native plants

Eco gardening uses native plants that are adapted to the local climate and require less water and maintenance. This also helps to support local biodiversity and provides habitats for native wildlife.

5. Organic gardening

Eco gardening uses organic methods to fertilize and control pests in the garden. This involves using natural fertilizers, such as compost and manure, and avoiding synthetic pesticides and herbicides that can harm the environment and human health.
